Emerson's Musical & Performance Groups
Just as we draw our inspiration for Truth from all the world's great religions, we at Emerson sing and play from all musical traditions. As part of the Sunday worship service or performing at special concerts and plays, the choir, small vocal groups, drummers, orchestra and performing arts troupe contribute greatly to the vitality of the church.
The Emerson Church Choir sings for Sunday morning worship services during the church year, September through May. Rehearsals are on Wednesdays, 7:00 - 9:00 pm and Sundays, 10:15 to 11:00 am. No auditions necessary, and all voices are welcome. Contact: Bonnie Wellington
The Emerson Intergenerational Orchestra (EIO) currently performs for four services during the church year. It is made up of school age children and adults—truly intergenerational. The Orchestra performs a variety of music, most of which is arranged by our Director Bill Atkerson. EIO is always looking for new musicians! Suoni Dolci In Italian “Suoni Dolci” means Sweet Sounds, and this group fulfills its name. Featuring complex vocal music ranging from spirituals to traditional madrigals to vocal jazz, their sweet harmonies brighten the Emerson Sanctuary.Led by our own Assistant Music Director, Adrian Rodriguez, the group prides itself on touching your heart (and sometimes your funny bone) with its music. We're looking for new talent all the time, so if you love to sing, want to hone your ensemble skills, and have a lot of fun, here's your opportunity! Contact: Adrian Rodriguez

Emerson Potluck Musicians Are you a musician, composer or songwriter tired of playing alone? Does having a group of supportive, like-minded musicians with whom to share your craft sound too good to be true? Well, here we are! Join the Emerson Potluck Musicians sharing music in an environment of support and positive feedback. All types of musicians and musical styles are welcome classical, folk, acoustic, jazz, whatever! So if you are interested in sharing your newest piece or project, ensemble opportunities or just spending time with other musicians, this is the group for you!
