Helping With Administrative Duties During the Week
Our Used Book Area in Westwood Hall now includes a magazine swap section. Please donate gently read issues, and feel free to pick up another. The magazines are free, but the used book area relies on you to make it work. And we’re always looking for volunteers. The commitment is small and the help is appreciated! Stop by and let us know you’re interested. Contact: Elaine Froneberger

The Caring Committee provides receptions after memorial services held at Emerson.

Office Volunteers are needed to do clerical work, basic accounting, answer telephones, and produce various brochures

The Lay Pastoral Ministry are trained volunteers who counsel church members undergoing life transitions.

Helping at Church on Sundays
New Member Welcoming Crew Would you like to join Ann Wood, Ann May, Karen Tidholm, Jack Howard, and Betsy Gelb in a brand new program designed to assist brand new members of our church? Our plan is to pair up, in a low-key, one-on-one context, a seasoned member with each newbie to help them get oriented, meet other members, meet the ministers, find activities of interest at Emerson, etc.

How about you? We estimate each volunteer’s commitment to be about five new members over the course of a year. You’ll interview each one for the Emersonian so the congregation can meet them, and based on their interests, you can help each one participate however he or she would like. Sounds fascinating, right? Of course! For a no-obligation discussion and/or to receive a written summary via email, contact: Betsy Gelb

The Folding Fingers Group meets every other week to fold the Emersonian newsletters for mailing.

Greeters welcome those entering the Sanctuary on Sundays and assist with visitor name tags.

The Guardian Angels supervise children and youth activities on the playground on Sundays during services. When the weather prevents outsite play, the Guardian Angels supervise activities in Schweitzer Hall (Room 111 of Delaney Hall).

On Sunday, our Ushers hand out Orders of Service, collect the offering, and assist guests and visitors.
