Sunday, December 25 - 1:00 p.m. - Christmas Dinner at the Pub
It’s happening at 1 p.m. December 25 at the Red Lion Pub, 2316 South Shepherd. EVERYONE is invited – you, friends, people you work with who might not otherwise have a Christmas dinner group, children….you have the idea. Reservations are YOUR responsibility, and the deadline is December 18. Please call 713-782-3030 and tell the Red Lion how many people you want to add to “the Emerson group.” Yes, they understand that we will want separate checks. Figure on “mid-twenties” for a Christmas dinner, says their (extremely helpful) manager. Hope you can join us. We did this a few years back and it was delightful. Gabe and Betsy Gelb, self-appointed dinner arrangers
Sunday, January 1 - 11:00 a.m. - Live Today Like You Are Going to Die Tomorrow
Religion deals what the mysteries of life and one of the most important is death, so how do we live when we know that someday, date unknown, we will die. We'll also have a traditional Transylvanian communion.
Sunday - January 8 - Turnings
Our annual service marking the deaths, births, and significant turnings in the lives of the Emerson community during the previous year. Has someone been born among your family or friends? Has someone died among your family or friends? Have there been significant turnings in your life? Don't miss this opportunity to honor your loved ones in a worship service that has become a significant favorite in the life of our congregation.
